Our History:
Paradigm Polymers Inc. was incorporated in the State of Michigan in 1994. Derek Smith, the president of Paradigm Polymers, has been involved in the plastic recycling business since 1978.
Upon graduation from the University of Waterloo near Kitchener, Ontario, he founded Entropex Corporation in Sarnia, Ontario, a company that would become a leading Canadian recycler of plastic and rubber feedstocks.
Using proprietary washing, grinding and extrusion systems, Entropex recycled millions of pounds of plastic on an annual basis—plastics that had previously been going to landfill.
In 1984, Entropex was sold and Derek Smith remained as president until 1994 at which time he moved to the United States and founded Paradigm Polymers.
